R (carriage return) was the newline separator in Mac OS before Mac OS X. Since OSX, the newline separator is (line feed, the unix standard) and text files do not contain carriage returns. Windows uses the two-character sequence CR-LF to represent line breaks; tr -d ' r' would convert a Windows text file into a Unix/Linux/OSX text file. Outlook for Mac 2011 is the mail application for Mac users. It allows users to send and receives emails as well as it allows to create notes, tasks and to store emails data. The stored data are in.olm file format. For Outlook 2010 and later versions: Open Outlook. On the Home tab, click New Items, and under More Items click Post in This Folder. On the Format Text tab, click As HTML or click As Rich Text in the Format section. For Outlook 2007 or earlier versions: Open Outlook. On the File menu, click New, and then click Post in This Folder. When you use Cached Exchange Mode or an Outlook data (.pst) file, you notice performance issues when you perform certain actions. You experience decreased performance in Outlook if the Inbox, Calendar, Tasks, Sent Items, and Deleted Items folders contain lots of items. Calendar performance is inconsistent. Folders(folderName) Else Set objProjectFolder. Count If myOlSel. Type the name of the folder you created earlier, or the name of an already existing Outlook folder to transfer the emails. In our organization we often send text based hyperlinks to folders and files we work on. Most of the time I just copy the path out of Explorer and insert it into the message body and put file:// if front of it so that Outlook will automatically create a link out of it.
This works great except if the file or foldername contains spaces. Then it breaks the hyperlink at the first space.
How can I make Outlook to create a link including spaces? Renaming the files and folders is not an option to us.

You can indicate the beginning and the end of the link by placing it between <
and >
. Your typed linked will then look something like this; <file://c:folder with spacesfile with spaces.doc>

After pressing ENTER or typing a space behind the >, Outlook will automatically turn it into a link. This works for all message formats (Plain Text, HTML and Rich Text).
