The classic glitch abused the merging weapons glitch to put the Evil Smasher’s special effect on other weapons. This new glitch only involved the Evil Smasher never losing its special effect. It could of happened due to the “repairing” of the Evil Smasher on the community patch though.

- A: This is a speedrun! Our goal is to complete the game as quickly as possible. We could be doing one of multiple things, depending on what my timer says at the top:
- - 2 Player Co-op: Beating the game on normal from new save files as Gaige and Axton.
- - 3 Player Co-op: Beating the game on normal from new save files as Gaige, Axton, and Axton.
- - 4 Player Co-op: Beating the game on normal from new save files as Gaige, Gaige, Axton, and Axton.
- - 3p All Quests: Beating the game on normal and completing every quest from new save files as Gaige, Axton, and Axton.
- - Geared Co-op: Beating the game from premade geared save files on UVHM difficulty as Salvador and Axton.
- Q: What are you playing this on?
- A: PC, and we've downpatched the game to Patch 1.1, which was the first patch Gaige the Mechromancer was introduced. Relatedly, Gaige happens to be horribly broken on this patch, along with a ton of other stuff. If we're doing All Quests, we're on patch 1.3.1, and if geared co-op, we're on 1.8.3.
- Q: Can I play/can you powerlevel me/do you want a drop?
- A: Nope, sorry! Speedruns don't allow outside influences, and most of what we pick up would be completely useless in a casual playthrough. We don't need drops because we'll be finishing the game at around level 20 and never using these characters again, unless we're doing all quests, in which case we'll be finishing at 33.
- Q: Why are you so low level? (only applies to categories that are not All Quests)
- A: Because it's fast! Most of the time we'll be using gear that's around level 10-15, because we really can't get any other gear due to how fast we're going.
- Q: Why are you quitting in Sanctuary so much?
- A: We're looking for a Vladof rocket launcher and a Jakobs shotgun for glitch-related stuff.

- Q: Isn't what you're doing cheating?
- A: Nope! In fact, everything we're doing is only using the game itself. The speedrunning community has defined cheating as using external influences like Cheat Engine, Gameshark, etc., and as such everything we're doing can be done within Borderlands 2. Feel free to try it out yourself! A depatcher is available on speedrun.com/bl2 so you can get to 1.1 or 1.3.1 yourself :)
- Q: What's going on with your shotgun? Are you modding/hacking?
- A: Nope! It's a glitch called infinite ammo, and it's done by 'merging' a free shot from Vladof rocket launchers onto my character. Basically, I equip a Vladof, shoot it, then swap to another weapon and back as many times as needed (1 for a longrider/scattergun, 2 for a coach, 3 for a bushwhack, and 4 for a quad). Jakobs guns fire as fast as we can pull the trigger, so we bind shoot to scroll down on a freescroll mouse.

- A: The Evil Smasher glitch! The Evil Smasher is a gun that, when you reload, occasionally explodes and gains extra stats, including fire rate, damage, accuracy, and crit. We can merge that property onto another gun to make it incredibly powerful, and thus what you see my gun doing.
- Q: Why is Deathtrap beaming you on zone transfers?
- A: That's a glitch called the Buck Up glitch, and it basically removes the shield cooldown and improves the recharge rate. With an amp shield, this is incredibly overpowered, because I gain amp damage on every single shot I fire. On patch 1.1, amp shields add their damage to every pellet of every gun, as opposed to current patch, where the damage is spread out over all the pellets, so amps are incredibly broken. This glitch does not work on patch 1.3.1, unfortunately.
- Q: Streamer, why don't you aim AT the enemies?
- A: Gaige has an aimbot skill called Close Enough, and this allows the shots I fire, if they miss, to reflect towards the nearest enemy 50% of the time and do 50% of the damage. Not aiming is actually more beneficial, because I can reflect the bullets towards the enemies' crit spots, but I have to aim in specific spots for them to ricochet properly.
